Applications for volunteer positions may be filed in the District office anytime. The District will hold applications until the next testing process, which is done based on need and available positions for volunteer firefighters. Ripon Consolidated Fire District - Firefighter/Paramedic

The Ripon Consolidated Fire District is establishing a list of qualified personnel for potential employment

Qualifications:

Required:

1. Current State of California Paramedic license.

2. Class “C” drivers license with ambulance endorsement.

3. Current certification as a Firefighter One course completion certificate from a recognized academy prior to application deadline date.

4. Current CPAT certificate within the past six months from date of application.

5. Employees of the District are required to have their primary residence within sixty (60) minutes of normal driving time to the District's boundaries, within one (1) year after passing probation.

Desired:

1.Current accreditation as a paramedic in San Joaquin County.

2.Class “B” non-commercial DMV license (or ability to obtain one within 6 months of being hired)

Job Description:

Schedule: Employee will be scheduled to work an average of 56 hours per week.

Duties: In addition to responding to emergency incidents, the employee will be expected to perform any and all duties consistent with the Fire District’s operation. (a more detailed list is available at the District Office)

Wage and Benefits:

Salary: Current starting salary while on probation is approximately $49,627 annually.

The probationary period is 18 months.

After the probation period is successfully passed, the current annual salary for a FF1/Medic is $51,851.

Benefits: 1. Vacations:

After one year: 56 hours

2 – 4 years: 112 hours

5 – 10 years 168 hours

11 years and over 224 hours

2. Holidays: Eleven (11) recognized holidays per year.

3. Sick Leave: 156 hours per year. Credit for unused sick leave at retirement.

4. Funeral Leave: Two days/Three days

5. Jury Duty: Up to 40 hours per year.

6. Uniform Allowance: $875.00 per year.

7. Health, Dental and Vision Insurance: Provided by the District for employee and dependants per MOU.

8. Life Insurance Plan: Provided by the District

9. Retirement: The District contributes 15% of employee’s salary to the employee’s

retirement plan (SEP IRA). Employee has the option of contributing an additional 10%.

Application Process:

1.Applications are available to be picked up at the Ripon Fire District Office. Applications will not be mailed or faxed.

2. Application, Resume and copies of all certifications must be received by the District office prior to 5pm on Friday June 24, 2011.

3.All qualified applicants will be notified or the each phase of the testing process.

4. The testing process will consist of a written test and EMS hands-on skills station.

5. Additional criteria required shall include, but will not be limited to oral interview,medical examination (including drug screening), and background investigation.
