Personnel/Staff Overview

The Ripon Fire Department staff is comprised of a combination of 15 Paramedic/EMT Firefighters, who work a 24 on/24 off schedule (modified Kelly Shift) including: 1 Fire Chief, 1 Deputy Fire Marshal, 1 Administrative Assistant, and 1 Office Assistant.

Each member of the Fire Department staff has specific duties, other than the obvious Firefighting and Medic duties. These include, but are not limited to, drills, training, mechanic work, apparatus maintenance, hydrant maintenance, building and grounds maintenance, and weed abatement.

The Ripon Fire Department prides itself on the outstanding service it provides to the community. We serve a population of approximately 17,000. In 2009 we responded to more than 1,500 emergency calls. Of those, approximately 1,000 involved the ambulance. The staff of the Ripon Fire Department continually enhances their knowledge and expertise with the latest technology by taking advantage of ongoing education and training opportunities.
